Prompts for LP 8-Interactive Multimedia

-smoke, water, mirrors, tricks

1.  MOPA youth exhibit-upload and enter through Mat.  Everyone must enter-I am really excited about this years theme and am going to make one with you to help with the layering and staging.

-Shoot several portraits of the head looking away-dreaming if you want to stage this
-I am going to show you guys how to start layering some other images into your base image to suggest dreams
-gather as many separate layers of dream imagery as you can
-begin to build this composition from scratch as a layered piece.  I really want to see you guys get into it this year-put some thought behind this piece.  What do you dream about?

2.  Video, Animation attempt, bio of friend, music video-please film and edit something?
I have Catalina footage from underwater to use in videos if you need practice?
-stop animation/ claymation, etc

3.  3d printed cameras-plan our final field trip to use 35 mm film and 3d printed pinhole cameras-view assembly and usage instructions from thingeyverse-help mat set date and location?

Prompts for LP 7: Interactive Multimedia

1.  Review video prompts from previous LP-continue to work towards a larger video production with green screen and changing locations.  Start a production that you could use for the Del Mar Fair-work with Aiden to help with editing and overall sound quality-refine!

2.  Google Doodle-due by March 15th or upload your own entry-review with me for feedback prior to upload
-please show some growth in Photoshop-not many people ask big questions related to production anymore?

3.  Tinkercad/ 3d printing App of choice?- make something related to photo-I suggest printing a box camera to load your own film-I want to take a field-trip to Torrey Pines like we have the last 5 years-everyone could bring a film camera to test that day?

Prompts for LP 6-Interactive Multimedia/ Advertising

Make an advertisement for a product or an institution:
(can be abstract like "happiness or love"
-posters
-radio ads
-business cards
-branding/ logos
-Social Media #
-video-animated GIF
-Youtube promo

1.  do a little brainstorming on paper (whatever that looks like for you)  try to work with other people but produce your own advertisement for a product that you alone choose.  Stage others in your ads and record their voices if you prefer but write the dialogue that you want others to read.  Help rehearse conversations and ideas before filming.  Check in with Mat along the way.

2.  Manage your portfolio of printed finished work.

Prompts for LP 5: Interactive Multimedia

1.  Enter the featured Photo contest for the month.
High School Seniors only but everyone enter and submit entries to me.

2.  Print and display series of 5-use your series photos from last month to create a hand-printed / collage display to hang in the hall.  Use the school's printer and paper.

3. Video: begin making videos in class this month.  We do not have to work together but I need a proposal and everyone to commit to an idea this month.  Begin filming short clips to use in your movie.  Music videos are nice and most of you can relate to the length and style so let's get started.  Gather lots of 10 second clips for editing.  Start practicing on a platform that you are comfortable using.  Everyone edits and learns to clip.

Prompts for LP 4-Interactive Multimedia

1. Enter the reflections contest.  Fill out the fee waiver form and upload your images to the website.

2.  What should we make a movie about?  please develop a proposal so we can vote and begin filming.  New editors should play with Imovie and Final Cut as well as Premiere.

3.  Photoshop:  Develop a series of 5 pictures that relate.  Make each picture 5 x 7.
-sports, action, trees, flowers, continuous shutter, film reel, even digital paintings of images will work.  Focus on the final display.  Be creative and use a backing board to mount all 5 images in the same display.

Prompts for LP 3-Interactive Multimedia

Artist:  Choose from the 20 artists that I feature this month.
Skills:  working in Photoshop, working with video, taking better pictures.

1.  Visit the link below and choose an Artist that you are interested in learning more about.  Send that artist an email to try and make a personal connection.  Just like last month, I would like you to find several good examples of the artists work.  Print and showcase these in your portfolio notebook with a very short bio and opinion statement.  We will share in class and try to continue using famous artists to influence our work.

3.  Upload and complete your Reflections entry.-see previous link
4.  Upload all new finished photos to Costco site-discuss printing
5. Batch 3:  Choose a technique form the list below.  Demonstrate this technique in Photoshop by applying it to an entire batch of work carefully.  Must show us at least 5 examples.  Must use only original Photos or trade with classmates for theirs.  No Internet photo downloads.

6.  Propose an idea for a class video that we can make that will involve everyone and allow us to work together in Adobe Premiere. Find examples to share with us in class so we can vote. Begin recording short 10-30 second clips that interest you.  We can all work separately if that is where the interest lies.

Prompts for Lp 2-Interactive Multimedia

1.  This month I want you to view the work of Eric Almas and research the process of creating a fantasy image from scratch in photoshop.  Check out the Ipad App-World Without Photoshop and actually read about the artists who are featured.  Create your own folder and choose from the link below which features the top 20 most famous photographers.

-put 20 of their images in a folder. (full resolution/ watermarks are ok)
-write down what you think is a short Bio summary of the artist's life.

Create an original piece of Photoshop art that is inspired by the artist that you choose-make your references obvious.
Present your artist and work at the end of the month for a critique
